The Faber Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1956 and serves Nelson County, Virginia.  Our first response/due area consists of approximately 74 square miles with a population of about 2,000. This area runs from the James River to the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains and is as mostly forested rural area with residents occupying widely scattered homes and businesses located on secondary roads and/or isolated small communities.

We are an entirely volunteer organization.  We rely on the support of the people we serve in order to maintain our equipment and to equip our firefighters to respond at a moments notice.  Our volunteers are dedicated to serving the community in which they live.
